Fol Été (1958) is a remarkable lithograph by Corneille, a master of the COBRA movement. This work, printed on fine BFK Rives velijnpapier, features a dynamic interplay of deep blue and vibrant yellow, reflecting the bold and expressive style for which Corneille is known. As one of only 120 signed and numbered editions, this piece, numbered 35, is a true collector’s item, further distinguished by the artist’s signature in pencil and the embossed stamp “L’Oeuvre gravée.”

With a large image size of 72.5 x 53.5 cm and an overall paper size of 81.0 x 57.0 cm, Fol Été encapsulates the spontaneous, abstract energy that Corneille channeled into his works during this period. The lithograph is in good to very good condition, showcasing the vibrancy of its colors and the clarity of its forms. It remains a timeless representation of Corneille’s vision of freedom and chaos, perfectly capturing the essence of a “crazy summer.” This particular piece is part of a highly limited edition, with a few additional artist proofs (E.A.), and some prints were made on rare Japanese paper.
