This 1987 etching, part of a limited series created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Albert Heijn, is a vibrant depiction of a disco scene. Measuring 39 x 48.6 cm (50.8 x 65 cm including the frame), it features figures dancing and interacting in a lively discotheque setting. On the foreground, a girl is being touched on the shoulder by a boy behind her, while in the center, a figure sings into a microphone within a glowing circle.

The piece was part of a special collection where Albert Heijn employees could choose one of 25 artworks made by invited artists. This particular artwork, titled “De Disco”, includes a watermark with the Albert Heijn logo and the year 1987. Signed by the artist, it is both a celebration of modern life and a unique collector’s item tied to Dutch retail history.
